Product Ops Consultant at chriscompston.com
Chris Compston is an independent Product Ops consultant who works with scaling organisations navigating the complexity of their rapid growth. He's seen first-hand what makes teams thrive and what holds them back. What he's learned is that great outcomes don't come from talent or effort alone. They come from clarity, inclusivity, and strong, repeatable practices.
Taking a systems thinking approach, Chris develops high-performing product organisations by improving and optimising their operating capabilities and behaviours. His work focuses on building Product Ops functions that can directly connect their value and impact to the business's strategic aims, helping product teams make better, evidence-based, data-informed, and customer-focused decisions.
Chris has led Product Ops at Bumble, Farfetch and Reward Gateway. Through Thoughtworks, he brings hands-on product development consulting experience across multiple industries, scales, and stages of growth. His career began in product design, giving him a perspective that spans the full breadth of how products are built and how organisations operate.
A recognised industry voice, Chris has spoken at over 50 product events in 12 countries across more than a decade. He is also the co-founder of the Product Ops Collective, a global community for Product Ops leaders and practitioners.
Outside of work, you'll usually find him hiking, learning to make music with synthesizers, or taking his camera out for street photography. He's the type of person who can talk about almost anything and can often be persuaded to do so!
